Hugh + Kelley (French Huguenot/William Aiken House Wedding)

I want to share a few more images from Hugh and Kelley’s beautiful wedding at the French Huguenot Church in downtown Charleston and their incredible reception at the William Aiken House.  This was one of those storybook weddings – a perfect day – the kind a girl dreams about.  I want to give a big shout out to Sara Hosch, the wedding planner from Southern Protocol for helping put together such a fabulous reception.  She was lots of fun to work with and as you can see from the pictures, she brought a girl’s dream to life.  All of the vendors did an amazing job and I want to give them some props as well.

Kelley + Hugh (Charleston Wedding)

As a photographer, whenever any of my friends get married, I have a choice to make – guest or photographer.  I have known Hugh 15 years now and Kelley for probably about 4 years.  So when it came time for them to get married, I had a that hard choice to make.  The cool thing about being the photographer is that you get into the details of the day and you are able to see everything develop (pardon the pun) from start to finish.  The real joy of being able to create for friends is that you can show them how you see the world by creating lasting vignettes of their special day.  Typically through the processing of preparing to photograph a client’s wedding I am able to get to know them and understand why they are together and why they have come to this day.  With Kelley and Hugh, I know that they are very honest and thoughtful people who care for their friends and family just as much as they do each other.  They are very loving people.  You can see this not by what they say but by how they treat each other.  On this day you could feel the love between them and all those who gathered to share this special day.  I am very happy for both of you and consider it an honor to be the one to create these images for you.  Enjoy,  Scott

Isle of Palms family sessions

A few weeks ago I met up with the Nagles and Cadles to create some photographs of their families at Wild Dunes on The Isle of Palms.  We had to reschedule the first session because of torrential rain but were blessed with some beautiful weather early this morning.  The clouds blocked the early sunrise providing a beautiful soft and even light and it helped that they were easy subjects.  The images put a smile on my face – hope so for you as well.  Let me know what you think by posing a comment.

Marie and Matt (Folly Beach Photography)

Last week, I created some images of Marie and Matt a few days after their intimate wedding ceremony on Folly Beach.  They were still glowing from the wedding day and images show their joy and love for one another.  Here are just a few:

Brian and Chevonne – Again (Folly Beach Family Photos)

Earlier this week, I meet up with Brian and Chevonne and their family out on Folly Beach.  If you follow this blog, you may remember them from their incredible, intimate wedding in downtown Charleston a couple of years ago.  Click here to see.  This time, they Folly and Charleston from Kentucky and we went out to the north end of Folly to create some photographs of the fam.  They have to good blood because the family was lots of fun and easy to photograph.  The mosquitos and horse flies thought so too because they tried to carry us away.  Here are a few of the various members of the family.
