Valarie + Mark (Boone Hall – Mt. Pleasant Wedding)

Congratulations to Valarie and Mark.  They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception in front of the line of oaks and house at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant.  Their reception was on site at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall.  I met Valarie and Mark for some drinks and then shooting their engagement images last year and from the first time I met them, I knew that we had a really good fit.  They are just fun to be around.  I have been looking forward to this wedding since hanging with them for the engagement photographs.  They proved to have a beautiful ceremony performed by Marks father and a fun and casual reception.  You have a really good group of family and friends and it is obvious, they adore you two.  Enjoy this teaser of images and check the proofing section of my website for more images.

Please post a comment to let everyone know what you think.

So the story with the final image is this:  We were starting to do the images after the wedding ceremony and Mark says to his new wife and wedding party just off camera… I wish you could photoshop a TIGER in the photo.  Well Mark, here you go.

Happy Easter

I hope you have had a good Easter holiday and extended holiday weekend.  I have enjoyed spending time with family and friends for the past few days.  Back to work tomorrow making some beautiful images.

A farmer and a pretty girl

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of capturing images of a farmer and a pretty girl on a day made beautiful by them.  They are the most wonderful down to earth couple.  The wedding and reception was an intimate affair on a family owned plantation in Manning, SC.  The location and group of people was just perfect.  Another perfect wedding and some fun and beautiful images!

150 Years Later

Today marks the 150 anniversary of cadets from The Citadel, my alma mater, firing on Fort Sumter in the port of Charleston – marking the beginning of the 4 year long Civil War.   In remembrance of the start of the bloodiest war in US history, there are many reenactments and history lessons and attention on the acts that took place 150 years ago.  Last night I went out to check out Fort Sumter which has had this single beam of light since last Friday.  This morning at 4:30am, the same time as the first shot was fired, the beam split into two marking the division of the union.

At Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island, there were 100s of actors camping out and even guarding the fort throughout the night.  That pup tent is about the only way I could afford living on Sullivan’s Island.

I loved the contrast with the palmettos against the night sky.  All of these images were lit solely by the light of the moon.

Whitney and Drew (Victorian House in Summerville)

Whitney and Drew tied the knot a few weeks ago at the beautiful Victorian House in downtown Summerville. They had an intimate ceremony and reception with their closest friends and family. Whitney has been a collector of my fine art photography for a number of years and I am very happy she allowed me to create some images for them on their wedding day. I hope these images will grace your walls just as my other work does. Enjoy!
